As part of the UNEP–DNMG project to strengthen human resource capacity in the Global Telecommunication System (GTS), DNMG conducted the Phase IV GTS Training focusing on the availability and dissemination of synoptic data as mandatory core data in compliance with WMO–GBON standards. The training was held at DNMG Headquarters and Comoro Meteorological Station, Dili, Timor-Leste, from 10 to 14 November 2025.
The training was facilitated by three experts from BMKG Indonesia, serving as trainers, advisers, and evaluators. It was attended by eight (8) participants, consisting of observers, forecasters, and technical personnel of DNMG responsible for the preparation and dissemination of meteorological data through the GTS network.
Through this training, participants gained knowledge and hands-on experience in synoptic message coding, configuration of the Comoro station network, and simulation of daily data dissemination from Timor-Leste to the GTS regional hub. The activity is expected to enhance the quality, consistency, and sustainability of international meteorological data exchange in accordance with WMO standards.
